The Sarco
The Sarco represents the future of dying.
A 3D-printed capsule that gives the user the ultimate control over the timing of her/his death. The Sarco works by lowering the level of oxygen in the capsule to lethal levels. The person inside breathes normally. Consciousness is lost within seconds. Death follows peacefully a few minutes later.
The Sarco offers a peaceful, reliable and drug-free option for an elective death.

In 2012 Dr Philip Nitschke was asked to develop a technological solution to lawfully end a life.

Since the commencement of the Sarco Project in 2012, there have been three renditions of the Sarco capsule.
Testing of Sarco
In mid 2023, Sarco completed its first round of technical instrument testing in Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
